What is iLASIK?

The iLASIK procedure is the result of a decade’s worth of technical refinement - it combines all of the latest all-laser LASIK technology in one efficient LASIK procedure. iLASIK, also known as the IntraLase Method, is a 100% blade-free approach to creating your LASIK flap - the thin flap of tissue that the doctor creates in order to perform your LASIK procedure.

About iLASIK

Step 1: The iLASIK procedure exclusively uses the latest advancement in technology, otherwise known as the IntraLase Method. The first step in the iLASIK procedure is to perform a series of tests to determine the individual characteristics of your vision with the WaveScan system. The WaveScan creates a 3-D map of the front of your eye using a special rotating camera. It then uses that digital information to design a custom treatment for each of your individual eye.

Step 2: The iLASIK procedure takes about 15 minutes from start to finish. Using the WaveScan system and dimensions of your cornea, the 100% blade-free laser pulses and creates thousands of microscopic bubbles. This produces a thin flap of tissue that the doctor folds back in order to perform your laser vision correction. The iLASIK procedure has earned the FDA approval to treat the broadest range of vision imperfections possible, including mild-to-severe nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism.
